Follow along to see more about what it is like to work in the call center and with Southern Cross.

How did you start working with Southern Cross?

I currently work in the call center in Peachtree Corners as the Senior Call Center Agent. I did not have any previous experience working in a call center, but I have worked in customer service roles in the past. Another Southern Cross employee told me that there was a position opening up at the corporate office, so I applied. I ended up liking the role a lot more than I initially thought I would. I have already moved from just a Call Center Agent to managing a small team as a Senior Agent. It was a fast transition, because I have only been with Southern Cross for 5 months.

What do you like most about your job?

I like dealing with the different job sites that we have and the different customers we get to interact with. Every day is different.

What is the biggest challenge with your job?

The biggest challenge can be communication with us and the different job sites. Sometimes it can be hard to get in touch with a job site to reschedule a meter exchange or get someone on the phone because we are on the east coast in one time zone and they would be on the west coast in another time zone. We make it work, but it can be a different process for different projects.

What was your first impression of Southern Cross?

I have liked Southern Cross, because they have always treated my family and I good. My wife has been with the company for many years and moved to numerous roles!

What has been your proudest moment at Southern Cross?

My proudest moment would have to be the quick promotion I received and growth in my role.

What do you do when you’re not working – hobbies, family?

Talk about work [ha] since we both work for the same place. We also spend a lot of time with our family. We have 5 kids that range from 4-18. We go to the park, watch movies, play games – my favorite is Risk.

What would your dream job be outside of Southern Cross?

If I could do anything, I would be a Shrimp Boat Captain – I love shrimp and Forest Gump was a good movie.

Southern Cross is lucky to have employees like Brian who easily fit into a role and take ownership of the position and want to grow it. Brian has been a great addition to our team as we grow our corporate office. To learn more about positions in our call center or with Southern Cross visit www.southerncrosshire.com/careers/.
